Potatoes are the main staple diet for most people in Eastern Europe. If a family cannot afford to buy potatoes it is difficult to get through the cold winter months. Each year CMIAID buys potatoes from Christian farmers in Romania and Moldova. We then take those potatoes and distribute them to needy families and the elderly. Potatoes also go to a number of orphanages.
The cost of potatoes which you buy includes the purchase price and cost of distribution.
